This past weekend was The Boy's special day. He had his first Holy Communion.
I love how handsome he looks all dressed up. It's a rare occassion of course. If given a choice, he'd be in pajama pants all day!
He's wearing the same suit he wore for my wedding in 2010, only now it fits much better! We did have to purchase a new dress shirt, dress socks & dress shoes for the occassion. I threw in a new tie (since it came with the shirt) and of course, he said, "Polka dots? Why did you have to buy polka dots?!" I didn't even notice they were polka dots, I just liked the pattern.
The Girl wore this beautiful dress for the first time, a gift from her Grandma. She got new shoes too (thank you Payless, for the BOGO!).
Hair was slicked back and sprayed to within an inch of it's life!
There were only four other boys in this Communion group, three of whom are also in his school class.
He was awarded a certificate commemmorating the day.
And each boy received a small prayer rosary from the priest.
Each child made felt banners that decorated the church. I like the brightly colored stripes on each side of his banner.
After some photos, we went to breakfast at one of his favorite restaurants, Mimi's Cafe. He, of course, ordered soup and salad!
Our first family photo since the baby was born. Of course, he's sucking on his fingers like crazy! We'll have to try again, the next time we're all dressed up.
